YMCA of Union County

Over the past century and a half, the YMCA has been a community-transforming institution, not only in Union County, but in the entire United States.  The Y has impacted thousands of lives for Christ each year, from its inception in 1854, through wartime and peace, through depression and economic boom.

Both peacetime and wartime to provide emotional support, a sense of community, and health and well-being for all.  From serving Union residents during the great depression, to encouraging healthy lifestyles during the latter half of the century, the Union County Y’s impact continued unabated, despite a rapidly-changing social environment.

Into the 21st century

The Union County YMCA continues to adapt to make a major impact on the many social challenges facing our city, state and nation.  From the tens of thousands of children who have been impacted by quality childcare, camping and Afterschool programs, to the countless adults whose lives have been strengthened through healthier lifestyles, the Y’s community transformation continues.
